@bootylicification , most of Obama's debt was necessary because of the bad policies set in place by Repubs. Worst was weakening the bank regs. that limited the greed of the banking industry since the Great Depression. The resultant banking melt-down forced a lot of Obama's spending to fend off a depression, like unemployment payments. Add costs for the unnecessary Iraq War, the interest on Bush's debt, the lower federal income due to Bush's tax cuts for the rich, explains why our debt is up.

The stimulus package was meant to stabilize an already collapsed economy. Or were you asleep during the economic crash of 2008, in which a republican was the president?
