Cineforum Trailer

Where have all the Muslim women gone? They're right here and about to take on the world. Come and meet some of these women and many others at the first Cineforum in London.

The Cineforum on 30th March 2009 is part of the London International Documentary Festival, and is an opportunity for us to hear and watch each others stories, inspire debate and action, participate in media workshops and create a network that not only works to promote its members, but also becomes a loud and clear voice with which to catalyse political and cultural change.

Your video is very well done: in image and content. Colours are beautiful (nice contrasts) and the opinions you get are really powerful.

I teach a class on Women writers from the Mediterranean -Fatema Mernissi, Assia Djebar and Leila Sebbar (and Edward Said). I´ve been looking for a long time for a strong portrayal-video of Muslim women so that my students can keep that in their memory (apart from all the problems they might face- i.e. patriarchal values). Now I have found it!
