People don't understand that there ARE students that want to have a BETTER life, who study and work to achieve the best. I believe that those students SHOULD have the right to better themselves, yes, they came here illegally but many have the POTENTIAL to make a difference. And as students and as human beings they should be able to make all that work pay off.
@butterflyxoxxo1 Also it is absolutely ridiculous that he is suggesting only the ones who enlist in the military can be granted citizenship. These group of kids are not parasites many have degrees and I guarantee if given the chance they would create more jobs because they see opportunity where most Americans see hopelessness. Also the drug epidemic in this country is shameful. STOP fueling the kill money in Mexico.
I JUST LOOOOVE how easily people can say these kids should go back to their own country and somehow start a revolution. Do you know it can take hundreds of years to break down and create a new state? Look at what has happened, is happening in Iraq and now Afghanistan. American has spent billions of dollars and ten years later you still see how much work will need to be done to develop new social norms that promote productivity/prosperity. To expect these Americanized kids to do that is ignorant
Yet another example of why Romney will never be president: he is a smug, vapid opportunist who will say anything depending on who's asking the questions and what he's running for (or in this case, from -- i.e. "get this woman away from me!"). And this is the best the GOP can come up with in a field of fools, wingnuts, one meta-nut (Paul) and one actually qualified guy (Huntsman) with whom I mostly disagree but who is actually qualified (a good argument for open primaries). Shame.
@mariovera29 No, she's fighting for a dressed-up amnesty that would reward her family by handing her legal residency. Be serious. She can "survive" back home, which is where she belongs.
I love it! What people don't realize that she is already an American in every sense of the word, just like the 2+ million undocumented kids brought to the US by their parents. The US is their home. Let them stay and help America be even greater than it already is. I'm an immigrant myself and became a physician to help my local community. She is fighting for her right to survive, obtain higher education and be a productive member of society.
@LameBrainMcCain and yes illegal immigration is wrong. but when you see their circumstances from back home, the natural human instinct is to move where there is a better life. and don't blame them, blame the government for allowing the U.S to be an open house before 9/11. now they want to enforce the laws.
@LameBrainMcCain Absolutely right in what you said. But wait a minute...some undocumented individuals file and report taxes to the IRS. You don't have to be legal to obtain a ITIN (tax identification number) It is a government issued number to anyone that has some kind of income. did you know that? Unfortunately not all undocumented people report taxes like they should and yes many get free benefits that they shouldn't get. But not all. Are you going to deport the ones that are not leeches??
I support the DREAM Act

This is why Romney is ahead of Newt. This is why Newt fell like a rock.
