Thailand's illegal abortion scourge

An increase in the number of illegal and unsafe abortions amongst Burmese migrant workers in Thailand is causing concern on the Thai-Burma border.

But with as many as 100,000 migrant workers in maesot and around, and the high demand for low wage workers, pressure on these women continues. And without proper education about the options available, or proper monitoring of migrant workers' conditions mothers and children will continue to suffer.
