@inthecresents No, Yusaf just sang the song, the animation was directed by Charlie Jenkins and the narration was done by Spike Mulligan, who was a famous comedian.

Saw this as part of the Fantastic Animation Festival in 1977. Stil holds up well today

Thanks so much for posting this! I loved this book (and Cat Stevens' music along with it, of course) as a kid way back in the 70s, but I'd forgotten that they'd turned it into a cartoon.
