Please Read Everybody:
Can I just plead with every horse owner to check their field regularly for ragwort? I know horses don't choose to eat it but they can eat the leaves that are hidden in the ground by accident.
It's so so devastating to find your beloved horse dead because of a problem you can help! Pull up and burn any ragwort you find, no matter how small. Just 1 or 2 sprigs of ragwort can cause a field infestation in weeks- once it gets out of hand, it's impossible to stop.

@laragrove75 thankyou, it is a nasty thing and once it dies thats it, I have had 3 horses wtith ragwort poisoning now, Jacob who I lost, my new foal Sierra who got into some as a youngster and my horse Blade who also got into some as a youngster, they have to be on medication everyday for the rest of their lives otherwise they'll die!

@laragrove75 I have seen so many die from ragwort, opened the top of a stable door once to find a dead pony in it foaming and sweated up and bloody from very severe ragwort poisoning, it's companion was locked in with the dead body as it would not let us near it to take the body away, that pony went mad and also died. The worst part is that my dear Jacob was killed by the plant Jacobaea, how does that happen?
