@werecancertoearth Snus has almost a 300-year history. Now, there will be cancers in ANY population. Pick your poison -- city air, drinking water, etc. But snus has no associated cancer risk worth concern. A recent study tried to pin a slight increase in pancreatic cancer (nasty one) on snus, but fell apart on close examination. Snus is NOT chewing tobacco, with its associated mouth hazards. And nasal snuff has ZERO cancer risk from its long history of use. Fear monger only with facts!

@purplemutantas oh awesome thanks!

@TheOzoneLayerHatesMe I got the rockit naked and the ice cool. Both are tobacco snuffs. Rockit naked is tobacco flavored and the ice cool is a menthol snuff. Rockit fuel snuffs are tobacco free snuffs with guarana.

@purplemutantas hey could you tell me if the rockit snuff has tobacco in it? or is it tobacco free? if it does have tobacco in it what flavor was it?

Many thanks Bob, great review.

I just started snuffing a couple of days ago to help me quit smoking. It's fantastic! Yesterday I only had 2 cigarettes. My breathing is already much better. If you are looking to quit smoking, I would give snuff a try. I would start with a courser snuff. I got some toque quit, but the grind is a bit to fine for a first time snuff. I am really liking the courser grind on the rockit snuffs. Regardless of what kind you get, take some time to practice and get used to it. It's better than smoking.

I thought that bullets were strictly for cocaine use. I guess using it with tobacco is a good idea too.

Ah, I see. Thank you.
I gave up smoking a few days ago, I only use nasal snuff and snus, sometimes dip if I can get someone in the US to ship it to me.
Snus, 1mg nicotine? TB: Standard loose & portions snus (Swedish) contains 8mg/g of nicotine. And there is Snus up to 22mg/g of nicotine. FYI.

@nhlpens Yes, you're right about advertised levels, but the most important measure is not the nicotine content of the product, but the amount a user can transfer to the bloodstream. A Marlboro cigarette might have 12mg nicotine, but only 1mg gets through. Most is lost as sidestream smoke. Snus puts about 20% through membranes in the mouth. I prefer snus with about 8mg nicotine, having tried a variety of nicotine levels. Somewhere I have all the absorption figures, but I now just go by "feel."

your right about it being dirt cheap. I bought a 1.15 OZ tin for 3 bucks. At first I thought there was no way I would ever use it all. Eyes burned and all that. After practice I can sniff right and it has a great affect

@Fiend4Nicotine You do get used to the hit. If you stay off awhile, as I've done, the first use after that period will produce sneezing and runny eyes. Your nose will adjust in a day or so.

Bullets are very handy and inconspicuous, but not stylish. Sniffing it from the back of the Hand or from the fingertips are the traditional ways.
Most Snuffs just don't have enough Nicotine to habitual smokers. But there are a few Snuffs with high nicotine content. "Togue Quit" is one of them.
Btw: Have you ever tried some traditional german snuffs? And no, I'm not talking about those menthol things. They're not traditional, they're modern.
fuertherbube 1 year ago
@fuertherbube Bullets look like nasal inhalers for Vicks. I can use one in full view of anyone and they think I have a cold. I vary methods, however, sometimes using back of hand, sometimes a pinch. You're right about nicotine delivery. The ones I LIKE don't deliver nicotine; the ones that are just too strong for my nose, like Toque Quit, deliver nicotine but I don't like the "taste", "hit", whatever. Have not tried traditional German snuffs.
