my niece went thru the same surgery.... she's now a full woman legally even, at first it was hard for all of us as she never came out, the news came as a shock.... from the guy who always had girlfriends to a post operation transgender person.
I am very proud of her for being such a strong person.

@pgingere I assume you mean how the feel about me getting the surgery, because I transitioned over 6 years ago. They felt ok I guess. They don't support me, but they did call when I was in the hospital to make sure I was ok. Mostly we just don't talk about it when we talk on the phone, and I only see them in person ever 2 years or so it doesn't come up much.
