DIY or Not — Preview

In the spring of 2011, I followed a few bands down to South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. Along the way I met people who are passionate about sharing music on their own terms and talked with them about how they perpetuate the DIY (do-it-yourself) music scene.

This is simply a rough preview that I cut in a few hours to let those who helped fund the project through Kickstarter, the people I interviewed or filmed, and any other folks who are interested understand the intent of the film. @carcrashpassion The song is "Sleeping Lions" by Annabel, the band that went with Joie De Vivre and myself on tour, and also the most awesome dudes I know. You can pick up their album on the Count Your Lucky Stars bandcamp for $8 (just posted the link in the description) — it's brilliant.
