2002 Ecotec with a misfire on Cylinder #2. Idles like a diesel, and the oil coming out of the muffler is definatly a good sign lol

  • hey there. im the one who got this grand am now. i took the head of and the prob with the #2 cylinder was a burned out valve. the side was gone right out of the valve. geting a new valve tomorrow. and also puting a new chain tensioner on just because there knowen for them geting bad

  • Mine is due to the fact that I have 20PSI of compression on cylinder 2, while the other cylinders have around 190PSI.

    If the SES is flashing swap out the ICM (Black part that says ecotec on the top of the motor) and see if that solves it.

  • What was the cause of the problem? I am having the same issue with my Cavalier. I have definitely lost power. However, I have no oil leaking from my exhaust. Is it plugs, coil packs, or the ICM itself?
