@Jaylyn231 actually there are over two hundred types of HPV'S and about 30 types are more aggressive. About 97% will resolve on there own in a two year period, but with close observation by a specialist. It isn't common for this type of reaction. This is why the PAP Screen program has been so successful in saving lives. Very sorry you've had to go through this. Pap programs is the safest way to go, with no side effects or dangerous reactions!

@Jaylyn231 Knowledge about STD's is so important!!! I am in no way suggesting that Gardasil is the best way to prevent HPV . All I am saying is that young women need to be informed about how STDs are contracted, there is no excuse for anyone of us not to know about this. Information could have helped you make an informed decision on the vaccine, and it could have saved me from having to have parts of my cervix surgically removed. We really need to start making informed decisions!!

HPV is actually very common, there is around 18 different types of HPV. It has nothing to do with being clean! It has to do with unprotected sex. Once you have HPV there is no cure until your body fights it off. So yearly check ups will NOT stop you from getting HPV. Please do some research on HPV virus before you advise anyone about it . I know the damage that HPV can cause, I contracted it at 19 and had to undergo invasive surgery to fix the damage to my cervix.
