A promotional video made in the mid-1980s for the now-mostly-defunct Borscht Belt Catskills resort hotels, including Brown's Hotel, the Concord Resort Hotel, Granit Hotel, Grossinger's, the Pines Hotel, the Raleigh Hotel, Stevensville Hotel, and Villa Roma. Includes a ridiculous cover of a Credence Clearwater Revival classic and a very catchy original jingle, "A little bit like heaven, only closer." Catskills nostalgia at its finest.

  • Thanks for posting. My family used to vacation at Brown's. I always wondered what happened to that resort!

  • mostly defunct what?

  • alot of IBM in this area too. I used to work at the concord hotel. shame to see it rot away and finally get torn down.

  • now you could call it the south bronx like in the 70s

  • Loved it because I grew up in the area. Family memebers worked at most of these now defunct hotels. It was a great time.
