Dear Doctor/Medical student/Radiologist/Trainee Radiologist/Friends,

I am a final year student reading for the Software Engineering degree offered at Informatics Institute of Technology, Sri Lanka in collaboration with University of Westminster.

As my final year project I have developed an automated system to diagnose brain hemorrhage using CT images.

The purpose of this project is to develop a system to identify whether there is a Brain hemorrhage and the type of it from the CT scan and also to provide an interactive session for medical students to obtain a means of knowledge testing regarding brain hemorrhage.

If the user is satisfied with the result they gain, they can use the test image to train the system for a better output next time. In this Neural Network is configured and they just have to train it just by clicking on a button.

However it is worthwhile nothing that the automatic detection is NOT meant to replace a doctor or a radiologist; but it will reduce the work of such professionals and enhance accuracy of diagnosis and also provide a learning tool to the medical students and trainee radiologists.

To improve this, I kindly need your feedback. So pls feel free to share your thoughts and comments regarding this and pls state your profession along with it.

Also pls note that this is a prototype.

For more information, pls feel free to mail : ushanib@gmail.com

Thank You...

Ushani

"The number one benefit of information technology is that it empowers people to do what they want to do. It lets people be creative. It lets people be productive. It lets people learn things they didn't think they could learn before, and so in a sense it is all about potential." -(Steve Ballmer, 2005)

I also wanted to be creative!!! :)

  • very nice software you go there. I am working on a feature extraction using matlab , maybe u can give me a few pointers on that, like is there a function to calculate black to white ratio ? and another feature like circulating around the hemorrhage and identifying it. I would appreciate ur help

  • i need to do something like that but i cannot understand how to do it can u help me with the code? i really need it please!!! :)
