@superjumper12 this is one of the few times I disagree with noobtoob, but I LOVED Sonic Unleashed. The atmosphere (particularly the music and environment) drew me in immediately. The werehog levels didn't quite gel, but I honestly needed them to "recover" from the speed levels. they were so good I got exhausted at times, especially when you get to the Polynesian levels.

Man, since you guys are pretty much done, I bet a lot of people are looking back and commenting on your old videos. I'm sure that gets old for you guys! :D
Anyway, my favorite episode for so many reasons; all the games that were talked about were all games i bought at launch, hated sonic unleashed (i liked night more than day, sorry, Yuzo), am a HUGE Banjo fan, was glad that you guys finally played it! I bought it back in 1998 back in the day and been a fan since! Good times!

@tobin00 Yes cuz that's what they are! I'm OCD (or CDO in alphabetical order) like Yuzo and when I update my game library list and add the genre beside it I write TPS for third person shooters XD I'm just jerking your chain lol keep up the good work...you guys rock! :D

@SP12 I personally felt it didn't "clash" because the game itself was advertised as 2 sides of a coin. So one should expect it to have two very different gameplays. But that's me. I personally didn't find Colors too good, because it had a way too comedy based story and the gameplay, despite the Wisps, felt like a flashy game with nice levels but offered no real substance unlike previous titles. I felt Unleashed was amazing. But thank you for keeping the discussion civilized. I appreciate that.

@vgman94 And just for the record, despite the Werehog clashing with Sonic, I still thought Unleashed was a pretty good game.

@vgman94 It's fine if you enjoyed the Werehog. As I said, I didn't think it was nearly as bad as people made it out to be either. However, the beat-em-up nature of it clashed way too much with the Sonic gameplay to really fit in. It'd be like if the next Mario game was half a FPS; it'd just clash too much with Mario's gameplay to really fit in.
A good example of adding gimmicks to a new Sonic game is Sonic Colors. The color powers added something to Sonic's gameplay without clashing with it.

@superjumper12 Who says they didn't belong in a Sonic game? If it was just day stages, it'd be shallow, mindless running for 5 hours. The Werehog added combat that was up to date and had good music (apart the battle theme) and levels. The enemies needed a larger roster or better placing, but it was good. Sonic is not all about speed. Sonic depends on gimmicks to be good, particularly his speed, but adding new gimmicks do NOT make the games bad.

@kzundiverus I agree. Microsoft fucked shit up..
Why dont they make fun traditional games anymore? Games used to have atmosphere and when you discover them years later the nostalgia skull fucks you. I dont want to preach, but games arent as memorable as they used to be. When Microsoft came into the industry, things started getting shitty. I know you all agree with me. Just look past all of the pretty graphics or multiplayer in games now, and 90% of them dont hit you like they used to. *Plays donkey kong country 2 while crying*

You just need to play the right games. Dead Space is memorable, so is Uncharted. There's still good stuff out there, but there's a lot of non-plot related games too.
