my ex wifes 95 t-bird did about the same thing, would be driving along at about 55 and would downshift to second, a mechanic friend of mine suggested the tps, she wouldn't let me change it cause it was really her dads car, but i bet thats what it was

I own a 2007 grand caravan SXT that's having a similar problem. between 30 to 50 mph its shifts down from 4th to 2nd then as soon as i accelerate to over 50 it runs normal. another thing is it runs like a V8. could it be the same sensor that your talking about?

I have a question if my throttle position sensor is bad when accelarating at times will not accelarate it will move but no power it begins to slow down then in a min or two it runs fine again can it be the throttle sensor gone bad

also check on any old naked wiring and loose wiring which go to the stepper motor, camshaft sensor and throttle position sensor
Clean the old stuff up a bit, pop the hood and check ignition faults caused by bad ignition wires and spark plugs just so simple man
-
check your vaccuum hoses and your stepper motor

27,000 people learned nothing....haynes books tell you how to check the tps. strange thing is....nobody even wants to check it. buncha brain dead monkeys with cyber addictions. its a car part...not a device to debate and pick ypur ass making videos. 10 minute troubleshoot, 50 dollar part and 10 more minute to put it in. aint misinformation great and car conjecture a waste of time.

Oh, it's a Kia. That's why.

My car won't accelerate going up a hill, and eventually drop down to the lowest gear if the hill is too steep, reducing me to 10 - 15 mph going up that hill. Could this also be caused by the TPS?

this is why i luv my old mechanical commodore.
will it also cause your car to cut off?

damn hey how much was the replacement of the sensor for ur car ?

@elpadre626 never replaced it, just pump the pedal about once a week and so far the problem has not presented itself again.

I found out that by pumping the gas pedal 5-10 times before I crank it up that it has almost eliminated this problem, there is something sticking apparently.
