  • I don't know about you all, but "bedroom" does not = guitar playing......i know what you are trying to say, the industry has led us to this terminology and its okay, i just cant equate amp volume to bedroom activities...just me i guess

  • Then it would appear that you have no need for a 1/2 watt tube amplifier, that sounds great, feels great and is easy to record. Good for you.

  • Sorry man, ran out of space.

I see this is the microbaby. Have you tried the superbaby? And how do you think it would compare for use as a home practise amplifier with the microbaby.

Thanks again for the great demo.

  • Stock tubes, although I don't use them now. For me it's great as a practice amp. Not much clean headroom with stock tubes. Any pickups will drive the 'clean' mode into overdrive past about 1 o'clock. A lower gain preamp tube, a 6V6 and a 5852 rectifier gives a decent amount of clean volume. Riding guitar volume knob helps a lot. Not loud enough to play live with a clean sound. Haven't tried the Superbaby, although I have a THD Univalve which I imagine is similar.

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for posting this! I have been looking for Microbaby soundclips for a long time. I will be purchasing a Microbaby real soon and these sounds have me wondering how long I can wait. How long have you had it and how have you liked it? Great demo!

  • I love it. Great overdrive sounds, very reasonable volume level. I wouldn't say bedroom, but it definitely wouldn't bother anyone in an apartment building or a couple of rooms away. Tons of fun trying a variety of tubes. I went a little crazy getting every different power tube it would swallow. I'll wont be able to post any more clips for a week. Boost mode has a bit more gain, and is 'tighter', but the timbre is very similiar to the loose mode.

  • I only have the SuperBaby....bought it in 2004 I believe. Fabulous amp...sounds best with 6BQ5's....ha....aka EL84's....imo.

  • I'm selling an unused Microbaby combo at the moment on ebay: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170574367154

Great. Emery Sound Amps are the #1 Pro Studio Rig on PLanet Earth. I have used nothing else since 2001 & swear by them. Dr. kHz is great genius. He was in Underground Garage 90's Band Lollipop on Axe too... Amazing. Small Amps sound more HUGE than big Stacks because in Recording a big rig 8 x 12" set up trying to be mic'd into a 1-1/2" diaphragm Mics is about the stupidest thing on Earth. They bleed all over a Mix where a little Emery Sound Microbaby will be focused, direct.

  • @fzappa007 That's kind of a lame statement. With a hotplate you can get great tube sounds even in your bedroom.

  • Great stuff. Nice to hear a decently recorded demo that shows the variety of tones available from the Emery Sound Microbaby with different guitars. Many thanks.

  • Nice playing and a cool sounding amp.
