ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE by Johnny Mercer & The Pied Pipers. Words by Johnny Mercer and music by Harold Arlen. Though Johnny Mercer & The Pied Pipers did a studio version of this song on the Capitol Records label, located in Hollywood, this is a live version recorded in approx. mid 1945. Johnny Mercer wrote ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE, as well as, several other songs, many of which, became hits of the day. He was an excellent singer , with a style similar to that of Woody Herman or Tex Beneke.

who knew johnny mercer sang, let alone sang so well?! well, I didn't! such a bluesy quality to his voice and style, too. it swings so much harder than various, more famous covers. and I love the mispronunciation of eliminate.

LA Confidential was a great movie, as was Mulholland Falls with Nick Nolte. Also set in the early 1950's.

please refer to the bible, it will give you the answer. there is no evidence, to my knowledge, of forgiveness given without repentence. the thief crucified next to jesus acknowleged jesus's righteousness and begged to be remembered, as he obviously believed himself unworthy of forgiveness. jesus assured him of life eternal, in view of his faith. but forgiveness is conditional upon forgiveness. baptism does not confer salvation; a dry sinner will be baptized and come up a wet sinner

I believe if this man were to get down upon his knees and ask God for forgiveness for his wrong doings and went through the process of being baptized, I believe that he would. However, if this man was guilty of a senseless murder and found guilty of it, that is another issue. I think the "wrong" that you speak of has to be defined more clearly. A car thief and a murderer aren't exactly the same thing. It is my understanding though, that God forgives all, as long as forgiveness is asked for.
