Wow, glad George didn't drop dead on the stage from that one.

Georges laughing song was originally sung on a 1913 Victor Record by Cal Stewart. The record, which I just posted, gives no indication as to the originally composer, leading one to suspect that it maybe has been around for so long, it is in the Public domain.

This song has been around long before Brother Ron. I just posted the original, so if you want to hear the Cal Stewart version with all the verses from 1913 you can do so. The record gives no indication as to who the original composer was. So I suspect that the song has been around for so long, it is probably uncredited and in the Public Domain, but I could be wrong.

This song was around long before Brother Ron. I just posted the original 1913 recording on my Victrolaman youtube site. It was originally sung by Uncle Josh himself, Cal Stewart on a 1913 Victor 78rpm. It has been carried on in comic tradition ever sense by succeeding generations of Country and folk singers. The record gives no indication of the originally composer, so maybe the song has been around for so long it is considered in the Public domain.

I remember the church I grew up in, and they'd do this one on occasion in children's church with one of the puppets lip-synching to it. LOL
George Younce (1930-2005) was one of the best basses there ever was. We miss you, George.
