The war in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been called the forgotten conflict. But many people here have experienced suffering they will never forget.
Naomi's story is just one of a million like it in the DRC.
Since 1998, an estimated 5.4 million people have lost their lives in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), in the deadliest conflict since the Second World War.
Oxfam has expanded its emergency response to deal with the deteriorating situation, providing vital assistance to 800,000 vulnerable people (July 2011).
We will continue our lobby work at a national and international level to ensure that the people of the DR Congo get the support they need to return home and rebuild their lives.
