@senicalj Shift extension is hard to tell, I would guess closer to 5,300 RPM on my bolt-on car with ~6,100 RPM shift point. Lock up on my car was only at part-throttle for cruising, never under power. This is set in the PCM tune, and a tune is something I highly recommend getting for a stall this size. It may even be required; on the stock tune you'll probably have misfire-related and other codes, bounce off the rev limiter, and it will feel very "sloppy".

@LS1sounds Thats unreal. Whats the shift extension like 5100rpm? When did it lock up? I couldnt really tell. Thanks for the help.

@senicalj Sound crazy right? I thought the same thing while I was driving it. The 3.90 gears should have helped it feel even tighter. The only thing going against it was that the car was a convertible, so it would have been a little heavier which could have made it feel looser as it pulled against the weight. I loved the PT4000 and thought it was the perfect stall for a naturally aspirated LS1 F-body, and wouldn't hesitate to get one again.

@LS1sounds The ss4000 felt looser? Can you really be sure about that? Most will say an ss4000 is fairly tight so if the pt really does feel tighter it shouldnt really be a prob. Im really just kinda wondering if this stall is to big for my car. Im wondering how it will actualy be with the 3.23s also. I would have to drive it to know I guess.
Thats just way to loose for everyday driving. Always having to back off the throttle. Only good for racing. I'm happy with around 2500 to 2800.

@61smb How long have you spent daily driving a PT4000? I drove mine daily for years, in city and highway traffic, at full weight and with 3.23 gears. I wouldn't want anything less in a 4th gen F-body! It was perfect for me, but that doesn't mean it will be perfect for everyone. I suggest driving one daily for a while before concluding that it is too loose; don't judge it from a YouTube video.

I still don't understand torque converters! Can someone explain in layman's terms? lol
