  • @beckypoopsrainbows69 The only hit they had was 'I'm A Believer?' Daydream Believer wasn't a hit? That would have been their biggest hit. Let alone 'Last Train to Clarkesville, Listen To The Band, Words and Mary Mary, just to name a few.

  • @Rush1013 yes but they were a hollywood-made show. they were branded to be beatle-esque and be successful. however they got tired of it and began coming up with their own content.

Hahahaha, yes it was a TV show, but it was also a real band. Just because they were no TV doesn't mean they are not a band. They wrote many of their own songs and had many hits (Im a Believer, Im Not Your Stepping Stone, Last Train To Clarksville, ect.). Im not even a big fan of this band, but its extremely obvious that you do not know what you're talking about here. You spelled "Beatles" wrong by the way.

  • @Rush1013 noooo the monkees was a tv show about a band.. and corperate thought theyd be bigger than the beetles and put out songs.. only hit they got was im a believer.. but this was a man made band for ratings.. and obviously they didnt last long :[ but the music they made was really catchy and memorable

What do you mean they werent a real band? Are you implying this music is just a figment of your imagination?

  • love the monkees!! even if they werent a real band.. im 21 and i think this song is awesome! xD

  • Chunkee Monkee! Groovy song! But where the heck is Clarksville?

  • one of my all time favourite groups ever. I am 28 and a huge Monkees fan since I saw repeats of their show on tv as a child.

  • The name of the song actually came from a place in Arizona Clarkdale. Hart and Boyce decided Clarksville sounded better.
