Recently got a brand new MacBook Pro 2011 core i7 2.2gz. this was a quick test, render time was roughly an hour or less. Also at the end the fluid seems to climb the wall as it hits the end, not sure why it happened, but it slowed down the baking alot, because the vertices were almost doubling each frame, and on the last frame the whle wall was covered. Any ideas on why this happened? anyway just a test for my macbook

  • What the heck happens at the end? It just starts flowing up and after "transition" it's a ball? Could you explain me what happened? :D

  • @FinnishGaming um im really not sure what happens to be honest, the ball is just because it didnt finish simulation, and it is the domain cube with a subsurf modifier. But it climbing up the wall is really why i uploaded it, it has happened with quite a few of my fluid simulations on 2.57 and i have no idea why, this is the most i have simulated it to, because it slows down simulation so much, and i dont know why :/.

  • @ExoRaptor Nevermind :)

  • @ExoRaptor Well, if he wanted a i7 3.22ghz macbook he would have to like 3 times that of a i7 3.22 PC.

  • Its because you are using a mac.

Also, the "oil" looks very thin.

  • look cool, but looks more like colored water. oil acts differently. i always wanted to try out blender

  • How Do you get it like an invisible box or cup in some cases?

  • @Bobfreestudios I've had this problem too, but if I remember right, the climbing stops if you put the domain to free slip mode.

  • @Bobfreestudios i found that when u restart ur blender and bake again it usually not happen again

  • that pee there is very unhealthy...

  • Nice check out mine :D

  • @Bobfreestudios Did you bake the Dynamics of the fluis simulation to the end ?

You have to set the frames the simulation applies too and set how long it takes in real seconds if I recall right.
