  • Eighth rule of Mercantilism

8: That no importation be allowed if such goods are sufficiently and suitably supplied at home.

If we can design it here build it here and keep the funds within this country then thats what we should do. I've seen the contract bids, they construct the bid tailoring it to what they want to buy from a specific manufacturer its practically a no bid contract. If Airbus gets this contract then a criminal investigation for fraud needs to be conducted.

  • i kinda agree, but i know many Boeing workers. the competition has made boeing better

  • @Leavon Agree. It would be an insult not only to our service members, but to our nation as a whole if we were to award a contract to any company owned and controlled outside the United States. The jobs need to stay here within our borders. I think the majority of Americans would agree on that.

  • Airbus and any other foreign company should be excluded from being allowed to submit a design in this competition for the new refueling tanker. This contract is going to be worth billions, those billions equate to jobs, wages for our work force, money spent in our economy, we shouldn't be sending our tax payer money to europe as a kind of proxy bailout for them supporting a gov't subsidized aircraft industry.
