i'm looking for a steam cleaner that doesn't require the disposable pads.

it would also be nice to have something that would steam clean cushions, chairs etc and tile in the shower.

i'm just starting on my research so any tips:)

@jen8933 Definitely go with the Shark steam mop. The padding only needs to be cleaned in the washing machine...no full replacement unless heavily used. It's a very effective machine.

@TinFoilChefDotCom Unfortunately no. I went through the instructions of both mops and they only work on wood and tile floors.

@SchlossyTV: Actually, the Gruene can be used with small towels. We bought a bundle from Costco and were pleasantly surprised to find that when they are folded over they perfectly fit the Gruene bracket. When we're done cleaning, we just run 'em through our washing machine.

BTW, it's important to change towels/pads as soon as they're soiled so dirt isn't just pushed around.
