  • Setting aside the factor that is that the song is awesome, I feel happy because this ain't that GSXCC midi shit, this is REAL tracking! An actual 8-bit song!

  • @SpiralPegasus even the title is in realistic NES style

  • AWSOME

  • EPIC

  • If I may make a suggestion -I know this is old, but still- If you ever plan to make another one of these, you might want to lower the noise channel a ways, it's volume is pretty distracting. Especially with the *KSH* sounds.

    Otherwise this is brilliant!

  • @dissident93 The problem is that if you play samples, it lowers the volume of both the noise and the triangle channels, and well I don't really care about noise being on a lower volume, the triangle is pretty quiet in itself, especially on the lower octaves

  • My fav part is 0:00 to 1:49 :D

    Good work!

  • @SpiralPegasus Oh? The NES could do samples? Damn, just shows how much I really knew. :)

And yeah, I'm pretty big into chiptunes, but more into the FM/YM OPN stuff.

  • @dissident93 Yes, FL studio does admit midis, of course, but Famitracker does not.

NES songs feature two square waves (lead & rhythm), one triangle (bass) wave, and one noise channel (drums).

The fifth channel processed samples. It required no expansions. Sunsoft used it to create a super fat bass groove.

Look up "Journey to Silius level 1 music" and "Mr. Gimmick intro". You can thank me later :P

I've been behind chiptunes for as long as I have lived...

  • @SpiralPegasus Well, in FL Studio or Reaper, you can.

And NES songs only use 3 tones. 4th if you count the white noise/percussion. Although, some cartridges came with their own expansion chip, such as the Konami VRC6, which added 3 more channels.

But tracking yourself, with no MIDIS, is awesome. Shows good talent for music.

  • @dissident93 Famitracker doesn't take MIDIs, I think.

Besides, the average NES song uses four, five channels. I hear four here, so I believe it's not a midi.

I may be wrong, who knows other than the creator?

  • @SpiralPegasus totally agree !

I'm fed up with GSXCC midi style .... IT IS NOT REAL 8 BIT!

THIS IS REAL 8 BIT (certainly made with love).

And actually I'm wondering how it has been made
