"The Lost Lakes of Bangalore" is a project to document Bengaluru's many tanks and lakes which have vanished with unplanned urbanization and growth.

"Mathikere - the Resurrection" drawing extensively on interviews with local people. Four smaller waterbodies in JP Park are what remains of Mathikere lake which was a
41 hectare tank sprawling between BEL and Yeshwantpur. The waterbodies are still afflicted with various problems and even these might go away without corrective action.

For its extensive and careful documentation of the current state of Mathikere lake and the problems thereof the team from M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology is co-awarded the winning prize in the student category and shares the cash award of Rs 15,000 for this film. The team members are: Mohan Krishna, Nandan S S, Nayana R K, Nishith Bolar and Nithin M Thomas

  • Wow! Can't believe that this is the large fishing-lake that I used to visit with my friends even upto 8 years ago... Nostalgic.. And a well made documentary too.. Thank you!
