By working relief sts you can create textured crochet patterns.
A popular one is basket weave, which is created by working dc's in front posts and back posts alternately.
In our video we start with a chain row of 26 sts, turn and work 1 dc in 4th chain from hook, and then 1 dc in each ch = 24 dc (divisible by 4).
2nd row: ch 1, work *4 dc in front post, 4 dc in back post*, repeat *-*.
3rd row: ch 1, work *4 dc in front post, 4 dc in back post*, repeat *-*.
4th row: ch 1, work *4 dc in back post, 4 dc in front post*, repeat *-*.
5th row: ch 1, work *4 dc in back post, 4 dc in front post*, repeat *-*.
Repeat row 2-5 for basket weave pattern.
