Boyd passed away 1/14/2012. It was so hard on me to lose him. I love you Boyd. RIP

This is Boyd our Moluccan Cockatoo hanging out on my Island in the kitchen waiting for me to get the dinner going. We call this his happy dance.

  • He is adorable! Though you must have had lots of remarks similar to mine - please! Do you have an avian specialist veterinarian in or close to your area? This bird has GOT to be checked out by an avian medical expert - that feather-picking is way, way WAY past safety for him - it could be stress from something, it could be mites, it could be something internal - animals do things for a REASON (unlike humans who can be often irrational); I know you love your pet, please don't take offence.

  • he picked out his feathers?

  • Talk about chicken legs

  • She's adorable but you've got to get Boyd to stop plucking... My umbrella started plucking and I had to put a sheet over one quater of the cage and I give her new toys everyday. She didn't like it when I moved the radio either. She's also next to another cockatoo and can see the cockatiels in the next room - very delicate situation - cockatoos that pluck - good luck - could be fatal...

  • Is this guy the loud mouth of your birds?

  • Love Boyd!! We just got a M2 in here (rescue) and he is such a character...I just adore him!

  • Boyd reminds me of our Hen Bird Moluccan Peaches. except she doesn't hop. she runs!! thanks for posting! FT 5/5 of course

  • I can handle it. I do everyday. What a awful story he had with a now happy ending

  • He looks like our Peaches. we've had her for 4 years now and she turns 21 next year. she's stopped plucking but is plucked out in many places on her body. 5 stars and made a favorite. BOyd has a loving owner for sure. FT

  • My umbrella cockatoo do that but it's not because she's happy, it's because she want your attention because she's on her cage and your somewhere else. It gets to the point where she just gets down and comes to where you are lol.
