  • The process works fine above 50 degrees F, so in the winter we may use heat guns before pushing the metal. For sharp dents, heat is helpful as well.

For dents behind bracing, we use smaller tools or another process called Glue Pulling. I'll have a video of that up soon.

  • i think theres all different types of hail rods. How do you know which to use?

  • You select one that provides enough leverage based on the length of it while still giving you good tool control. I try to have one hand under the dent, guiding the tool and the other providing the leverage.

  • What type of tool is being used? Thanks.

  • It's a basic hail rod with a rounded tip.

  • Live in nebraska have wanted to be trained in this art but having heck of a time finding good trainers.

  • great job mate cheers

  • If I didn't see this video 1st and how smart of a MaGuyver trick you did I would have just cut that dent out with a dremel tool equipped with a cut off wheel then shoved an old pair of socks in the hole then cover it with duct tape then smeared some dry wall putty over it then got out my drill attached with a 40grit disc then took 10 really hard wacks at the area like I was trying to chop through wood with a hammer. Then painted over it with a brush and told my wife I don't know what happened :)

  • Do you start at the edge of the dent and then moved towards the center?

Otherwise ... very good video - thanks

  • great vid... thanks for showing the actual process of pdr... unlike most vids that just shows before and after pics and a lot talk but does not share the process itself

  • nice touch.... but two questions: would it make it any easier if the panel was heated? What happens if the dent is in an area that can't be reached?

  • Nice video, most don't show much of the dent in detail, but this was very good. Just curious what percentage of dents do you repair with glue? I rarely drop headliners for small hail anymore.
