rightside.. See the video If the IRS & Medicare had a baby ... It will give you an idea of the 111 new bureaucracies that will be created. Good for you if you have less bureaucracy in Canada. We still don't want your single payer, and would never go to Canada for healthcare, esp surgery or cancer treatment.

How about doing it so 111 new bureaucracies AREN'T created. Look, if you have a clean slate to start with, and the USA decides to totally revamp everything to an American Single Payer system - then do it YOUR worldclass way!! NO EXCUSES. This notion it "has to end up as shit" is baloney. You can design stealth bombers but can't set up a simple national in-out insurance pot ? As for Canada, if you could get the surgery for free, you'd be on the first plane. Need citizenship, sorry.

Callhermaam: "would never go to Canada for healthcare, especially surgery or cancer treatment" Look, you need to get out and travel the world. I see the spook tactics being shoved down the USA's throat - and because 85% of you don't have passports, you're in a bubble. The cancer gene was DISCOVERED IN CANADA, silly. At our prestigious PMH, which is Canada's "Mayo Clinic"... it's HUGE, and it's totally non-profit. No charge to get care. Watch the Canadian TV commercial: v=mgahPK1YaTA

rightside...what do we need a health board or "evidence based medicine" for if no one in gov is involved? There will be health board officers to help doctors use best practices or second guess docs after decisions are made.

Callhermaam... you fail because you don't understand single payer. When the insurance pot is controlled by the govt (the people) we make the rules that ALL are paid, and there is no analysis or second-guessing of the doctors & surgeons (who decide ALL). That's Canada. Why do you fear an insurance pot that WANTS to pay as opposed to what the USA has now: an insurance pot with gatekeepers who want to keep the purse zipped. Gatekeepers being CLAIMS OFFICERS and thick rulebooks to deny you.

rightyouarenot..We have already seen 100% failure in Mass, Tenn, Oregon, and Obama's home state of Hawaii with gov run health care. Why isn't Obama bragging about Hawaii's plan? Because it sucks and they are doing away with it. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result- Einstein. Clearly you are no Einstein, just insane

Oh yeah, Like the government wouldn't take $4,000 and put $2,000 toward claims. More likely they would spend all of it and say the system went broke like social security...Sorry but we need more taxes!
Are you that blind?

You are clearly wrong. There is no way that Canada would allow a contraindicated surgery. That was a test and you failed. Try being honest next time.
