Dear friend, you are yet to experience the profound solitude of Webern's music. This isn't a fairy tale, it is music down to earth, as sad as the human race, in this cubicle we call world.

  • Compare this performance with Siegfried Palm for a better interpretation, also on You Tube.

  • I realize this piece has deep intellectual meaning. I guess my first impression or how I felt after listing to this piece gave me an image of poop, oddly. The pieces must have an inherent quality, even if hard to discern, and they are quite abstract in nature. They take on of the characteristics at first listen of something splattered on the wall, (at least for me) but I realize the seemingly random placement of notes are likely very intentional and highly conceptualized. What are they about?

  • It is very easy to criticise this piece unless you understand it. This particular performance misses the mark in that the interpretation is "Romantic" whilst the piece is quite definately "Anti-Romantic". It doesn't help.

  • You seem to be a little piece of crap yourself as you are out of your league here sunshine.

  • Excellent stuff mate, well done.

  • My god, you're right! How could anyone with half a brain disagree with you and possibly ENJOY this kind of music??? It seems inconceivable.

It certainly couldn't be the case that a moments study into this music would make it the least bit enjoyable--could it? Probably not, you're right.

It's a shame that I wasted so much time studying and performing these pieces when they really have absolutly no value.

Could I send you some other pieces I want to play--to see if you approve?
