It is not a Yellow bird, "just" a regular CTR...
-
@MugenDB2 yeah lol... but only because gearbox failures, otherwise it has one of the best top-ends out of almost any car ever, topping out at 213 in 1987..
-
@Testacojones I'm afraid I'm a tad short but I'll go 0-70-0 title for title. I had better be spot on or I'll be walking.
-
@KingCast65 That explains it, by the way there's now an original "yellow bird" Ruf CTR for sale with an asking price of $279,000!!!
-
@Testacojones The guy said there was a gearbox issue.
-
anybody else get all excited like you were actually in your car with your foot depressed on the clutch watching he opposing light to turn yellow.. and then yours green. yea. maybe its just me. but that old 911 is rad.
-
Definitely not a Yellowbird. It would have smoked the RS.
-
Either something went wrong with the Ruf or the owner decided to leave the track, he RS will not leave it behind.
-
For some reason I was convinced the CTR would win. There's no reason why it should...
-
@febonionick right at :02 it says in the video that the CTR was suffering gearbox issues which is probably the reason for the outcome
it's not a yellowbird, it's "normal" ctr

@NickksB Er, I think you'll find that you're wrong. The owner used to work for RUF, and his family own several RUFs, so when they say it's a Yellowbird, it's a Yellowbird. Additionally, I've sat in the car and can vouch for it's authentication.
You'll also find that the RUF CTR is refered to as the Yellowbird: See the RUF CTR wikipedia entry for clarification
