I'm running an acer aspire one 722 with 4gb ram and a 1GHz processor (Max 1.33). I've been having a great time playing N64 roms at 60 fps using Project 64; but when it comes to PSx games with 3d; the netbook slows so much. What Graphics/sound drivers do you recommend?

I think netbook cpus are not as powerfull as their speeds sugest because they are produced for lower power consumption.
I thought i had a bargin with my desktop a few years ago it was a AMDX4 Phenom at 1.8Ghz but its the 9150e so its low power one and not as good as the higher 95watt CPUS

What plugins are you using for N64, or settings? I would like to play Majora's Mask (waiting for power-cord replacement) and would like other save files so I don't have to wipe my cartridge clean. lol

@MazelTavMan sorry. I still haven't uninstalled all the aol crap my Ex's mom left on there. I haven't even touched this computer in a long time. When I do, I will post a video. Try turning off EVERYTHING. and then trail and error the plugins. some times the software plugin runs faster, some times it's the direct 3D... the ONLY thing that makes my computer diff thn others is that I disable the anti-virus, and other software. That's it. No ram mod, no nothing mod.

Do you think Gamecube/PS2/Xbox emulation would be a stretch on these things?

@themodernguitarist next to impossible. I hate to say somethings impossible. But let's just say Dolphin (GameCube/Wii emulator) has system requirements that ask for a GPU. Acer Aspire one uses the regular cpu and memory to handle graphics. The newer netbooks and ones to come with the nvidia tegra 2 or some sort of dedicated GPU have more promise of running something like that. Cheers!

@ncpr707
Yeah, I found out the hard way that not even my Acer Aspire One D257 (The latest incarnation of the Asp. one ) can handle it. And from what I'm hearing, most laptops period don't have the processing power required to run dolphin, unless you're paying VERY top dollar for one. And most people are claiming that Dolphin relies more on CPU power then GPU.
Oh well, back to the pre-1999 console emulators. =P

@themodernguitarist They are probably correct in claiming that about the CPU. it used to be that emulators didn't take advantage of a graphics card or processor (most likely because it would have required for dif drivers for each card)... but now adays its a dif story. Like I said though, the nvidia tegra 2 is dual core and has a dedicated graphics processor too. I'm really looking forward to the tablets & netbooks of the future and anxious 2 see if the leading emulators will try to support thm
