Brilliantly lighting up the dark sky, space shuttle Endeavour roared off the launch pad carrying the STS-123 crew, a module of Japan's Kibo laboratory and a Canadian robotic system to begin the 25th mission to the International Space Station.

NASA astronaut Dominic Gorie commands a crew of six, including Pilot Gregory H. Johnson and Mission Specialists Rick Linnehan, Robert L. Behnken, Mike Foreman, Garrett Reisman and Japanese astronaut Takao Doi. Johnson, Behnken and Foreman will be making their first spaceflight.

  • @Quake120 I agree? You shouldnt have to agree! It should be common sense that space is indescribable! juss sayin :)

  • @KaosFromCoD4 If constellation passes they are going to use the Ares V. That thing has even more thrust than the saturn V, which generated over 5 times as much Thrust than the space shuttle. If they are gonna use that thing on a night launch its not gonna light up the nightsky, its going to be a supernova.

  • Hopefully one day space travel will become a common thing and everybody will have a chance to see the beauty of the planet from space and experience what very few people have.

I will agree with you...Space is beautiful, especially seeing the Earth from orbit.

  • are you going to hijack the shuttle and bang on the Moon? :P

  • i was fortunate that it launched while i was vacationing in florida, so i was able to watch it from the causeway. it was pretty awesome but it sucked when it when up into the clouds after a minute because a waited in line to board the bus for about three hours then had to wait another three hours until it launched. oh well, i was able to see one of the few night launches

  • Glad you guys liked my video recording skills! I wish I had sound on my camcorder though:( Even from the Assembly Building I was in when I taped this it was realllly noisy!

  • And I am the co-pilot.
