Chemical Change: Making Yogurt From Milk

Upper Elementary student, at Andover Montessori School, perform experiments in chemistry class to understand the effect of a chemical change in a substance, solution, that goes through certain environmental conditions. Inquiry based experiences like this one show to have an enormous impact in their learning and for the development of practical lie skills. At the end of each experiment, students discussed about scientific method's understanding and underlying concepts. They seem excited and intentioned to bring their knowledge on chemical change at home for further applications with cooking. Once yogurt is produced, students will proceed with the next activity on "pH Levels in different solutions."
