@gavsky23 I totally agree with your comments. I attend the Queen's Birthday Parade and find that access to view the event is OK despite the security that is needed. Also it should be noted that the area sealed off down the Horse Guards approach road is occupied by young members of the Scouts and Girl Guide movements on the actual day of the parade.

@emptyangel What really saddens me the most about all this is man's inability to live in peace with each other. The lust for murder, the never ending excuses for taking another life. When you see the kind of comments on U Tube the hatred and contempt for fellow human beings is unbelievable. Whatever your views and opinions I wish you peace and good health and I respect you because your a fellow human just like me, with all our faults and all our fears.

@emptyangel The strange thing with all this is that the Government allows Muslim preachers to preach murder and hatred on the streets of London and thus encourage and incite murder and yet will restrict the movement of law abiding citizens. Have you seen the what they have done to Whitehall with the walls and bollards all the way down. Very sad to see and London is becoming and alien place to be now. A city I have always loved but now a city I no longer know.

Clearly, you have no idea what a police state is! You can't go up to the stands as and when any more because of the IRA bombings that killed 11 soldiers.

Sadly, to restrict the terrorists, some 'freedoms' must be given up. But I don't see how these little police matters affect your everyday life.

What if terrorists planted a bomb in the stands, then on Trooping the Colour it kills hundreds of people. Who do you blame then? The police for not doing their jobs?

You could always watch the Guard mounting on Horse Guards from the stands on Horse Guards, now the police decide we cannot anymore. No explanation, no chance to challange the decision, another freedom gone decided by The Police and The Police alone. That is a Police State. Restricting citizens from enjoying their capital city. The Government is so incompetent it cannot protect us from Terrorists, they restrict our freedoms instead. We lose our freedom and we still get blown up by terrorists.

@pethayoo1...If I hear this one more time, I'm going to scream! Crowd control and security have always restricted access to some extent. You can still get really close to the action all along the route, being behind a single barrier is hardly a problem. This close to Horse Guards you can't have large crowds close to the road, hence double barriers. AND don't use the Police State argument - utter bollocks. Try China/Burma/Korea...see what a REAL Police State is.

The Police are very good at blocking the public from seeing any public events today. They seem to have unlimited powers to close off public streets and parks, very soon you will need binoculars to see anything. The Police state is here,all our rights have gone and no one blinked an eye.
