No the plastic bag does NOT have pesticides. This is a pesticide-free way of getting rid of fruit flies.

I am SO glad this worked well for you! I use this trick almost every night durring the summer and when I am canning fruit.
It's nice not to have to spray anything around small pets and kids too!

my room was infested with them when i went to ocean city and left an orange in my guinea pig cage, this got rid of them

I also use those bags for chopping hot peppers :)
That way I don't get the stingy, stinky pepper residue on my good plastic gloves and I don't get it on my fingers! No more tears :D

I hate 'spraying' bugs especially around food...this took care of two things at once...recycled a bag that would normally get tossed in the trash and fruit fly problems.... (o:
