The only thing, and this may have caused the cracking also, use glancing blows, like a more of a swipe motion, or as I like to say, play in a circle. Its hard to get used to because its easier to just hit it, but it'll save time and money, according to everyone else. Plus, meinl could see this as abusive play and void the warranty.

@Uberdorkface I choke up in front of a camera, as you can tell by my improv. Usually I improvise for hours with stuff I'd be really happy to share with people, but then I start filming and fall apart! I do love playing live though, I can get a bit of my improvised flair out without choking up like on video. Thanks though :)

@Uberdorkface Thanks for the kind words, but I'm awful with a click! I'm spending a LOT of time practicing with one right now but I'm still horrendous, I get all overexcited and rush everything.
