This film was shot at Lowender Peran Celtic Music Festival in Perranporth Cornwall October 2008.
Lowender Peran is the largest global clan gathering and Festival of the Celts, featuring Celtic Music, Dance, Poetry and Cultural events from Brittany, Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland and Wales, held annually in Perranporth Cornwall. The Celtic festival gets very busy, however you can book hotels online at http://www.travel-agents.org/hotels Book early to avoid disappointment.

The film features Lord Edward's Own Pipe Band, which was founded in Narraghmore, Co. Kildare, Ireland, just over 90 years ago. The Irish pipe and drum band competes in Ireland and Scotland and has participated in music festivals and other cultural events throughout Europe.

Success in competitions in recent years has seen the band rise steadily through the grades until its promotion to Grade 2 at the end of the 2002 season, when it was crowned Scottish and Ulster Champions, as well as taking prizes at the British and World Championships.

  • now now

  • @Celticarchie1 Nitpick. How about this one. Watch Rob Roy or any Scottish themed film What do you hear Pipes. Irish pipes. Irish wolfhounds in abundance. Tara broaches et al.

Your language. Uisce beatha, your music, your names. All Irish. You have the Kilt. Pity it was invented by an Englishman.

  • @jack117ish Bullshit. The Scots owe their entire culture to Ireland.

  • oh and the irish never copied of the scottish with bagpipes in fact during the medievel times irish villages couldnt afford there own musical instrument so the made it out of mainly animal hides and bones so please dont get our bagpipes mixed up with the scottish they may look and sound the same but come from a totally different ancestry.

  • god bless ireland!!!!!!!!

  • just great music in exact movements in real tacts.

  • 5 english were trampled by the unforgiving pipe band

  • @britnorse No nothing except that that the Scots pipes (The irish war pipes) originate in Ireland, like Whiskey, the Scottish language ( a dialect of the Irsh language) and the very name Scot, which originally referred to an Irishman. Nought to do with Scotland you mean.
