i could see using a greatly refined version of the first one, mainly if they got it to actually USE windows, and all of the applications and things that are obviously included with windows

this is cool!
it would be quite intresting to play around like this. if they can do this, why not make keyboards that don't make tapping noises? you could have a completly flat keyboard.
would be very cool...

A virtual screen keyboard is a good idea for people who still look while typing. But for people who can type without looking at all need the physical feel and feedback of key positions for accurate perfect typing. Typing becomes second nature, literally as if your thoughts directly put the words on the screen. It is amazing the body's ability to retain physical memory with practice (walking, dancing, music). Accuracy would be more important to a person proficient at typing than noise reduction

It might be useless, but I bet Apple will get this on the "Wish list" of "where we should beat Microsoft as soon as they fail with their try" XDXDXD

its damn cool and damn useless at once!
I mean.. think of it.. or all the other microsoft surface-demos... why in the hell would i want to have my photo from my digicam just put on a virtual pile on my surface-desk? thats like analog-photography. it uses extreme high-tech to kill the advantage the high-tech brought us in comparison to analog.... omfg?! what were they thinking? btw: no restaurant will be able to buy these, except you pay 99$ for you pizza afterwards (price: 20.000$ per table)
