  • Absolutely wonderful singing and great musicianship. I am so lucky to have heard him live twice. I have been an admirer of his art since I was a child. There is just one thing I find such a pity, that is, that apparently nobody ever taught him correct italian pronunciation. It always sounds so German with all those aspirations...

  • I think he was working on it, because his pronunciation here is better than on some of the older recordings. He just died too young, aged 36, a year after this recording was made.

  • Due to our past we Germans do not say that we are proud of something german too often. But I am proud to say that Fritz was a German - wonderful singer.

  • BRAVO!!! his control and expression is out of hearth!!! i love him!!!

  • Mi tenor favorito es Alfredo Kraus, pero Fritz Wunderlich es fabuloso.Lastima que ambos nos dejaran. R.I.P.

  • So beautiful, great voice of a great german tenor. Died too young.

  • Quelle perte ce fut .....Heureusement nous reste sa voix....très italienne ici...remarquable de sensibilité ....tout simplement beau...

  • @oscalinetto His "Il mio tesoro" sound's rather good to me, much better than this one, at least. Maybe he was more comfortable with the way Mozart had used the Italian language in his operas.

  • Absolutely beautiful great expressiveness and control. The Italian isn't perfect the singing however is!

  • With that way of singing, ist the same same for me if he sing it in japanese... I love it! For me ist the best ever!
