Gisid - كصيد Bedouin Knighthood and Pride - Talal Ismail

As a word, Gisid is the Bedouin variant of the classical Arabic word qasid, meaning "poetry." As a term, it is a Bedouin singing genre or style. Bedouins have several singing styles. Gisid is just one style. What makes gisid different from other styles is:
1. It is in the Bedouin dialect
2. It is a long poem (sometimes a hundred verses or so)
3. It is a ballad; i.e. it tells a story, a tale, a sage or a legend
4. It is full of wisdom as well as lessons and experiences in life
5. It is sung either with or without rhythms.

This gisid is sung more freely with special adaptations and melodic as well as rhythmic adaptations. The idea is to make it a modern song using electronic rhythms and sound effects.

The theme of this song is in short "knighthood." The poet here is proud of himself as a Bedouin man. He is also proud of his tribe and his relatives.

As a child as I used to hear such gisids sung to me by my elder relatives. I couldn't understand the meanings before I grew up and became a man.

أمكدرين أنتم علي بالتكاديري معناها أنتم قدري ومفصلين علي تفصيلاً
