So Makarov's the leader of the "Inner Circle" terrorists/extremists/national­ists(not sure wat they are) ...and the Spetsnaz are simply Russian special forces?

It can't be claimed they work just for a single group, all those types of groups, be it police, intelligence or whatever doesn't matter, they all have troops of special purpose...

@Thiefje and the funny part is: russia isn't soviet anymore and look at the emblem. and spetsnaz were soviet forces. There's no war between USA and Russia anymore and i think this is going to be the theme of the fps games until the year 2500.

@Edshindriks Well the Spetsnaz was formed during the time of the USSR, but that doesn't really matter as the symbol in this game isn't even the real one...

My favourite line in the whole of the CoD series is in Black Ops when you're the last one alive in as Spetsnaz and the announcer says "Fight to your last breath, comrade." I dunno, it just seems like russians have more pride in battle than the americans.

@traumacenterguilt I definitely agree with you. Everytime I hear this it makes my victory feel monumental, and whenever the game is very close and my team barely won it makes me feel like we accomplished the impossible.

@Thiefje Not all Russian special forces are Spetsnaz I believe. OMON isn't for example.

@NotEntirelyLegal97 spetsnaz are not really bad guys if you think about MW3 story. Inner Circle is, which is under Makarov.
