From 4-7 June millions of people will have their chance to vote in the European Parliament elections. The people they elect will sit until 2014 and will play a major role in Europe's political future. "All politics is local" as one sage once said. However, in an interdependent Europe, themes such as the economic crisis, climate change, energy and how we produce food will feature across the political spectrum. Here we speculate on some of the issues that could decide how you vote in June

  • Isn't time to have real election with the same system for all the member states?

  • The problem is we're not given a chance to vote in a real Democratic system. The Soviet EU Parliament carries none of the traits a normal Parliament would have, and they can't even propose legislation and law, they can only vote on it. If the Soviet EU was Democratic, or had any Democratic intentions, we would be given the chance to vote for Commissioners as well as MEPs. We cannot. And we know why; they don't want to engage the Peoples of Europe to decide their own future, they'll do it for us.

  • LISTEN ice1389 ARE U A MORON? voting for the bnp? Lost your marbles have you? Think about it mate. They are a sham. If u really are a non-native , the moment they have power u r out on ur arse arent u?

  • I'm a non-native but I'm voting BNP. Only they will exit the EU, end immoral wars, and stem immigration. That's the only recipe which might save Europe from social and political chaos.

  • A REAL PARLIAMENT has its own citizens and doesnt borrow other peoples for its elections.

The EU could have its own citizens BUT would have to ask their approval in a referendum.

Anything else would be a breach of International law (UN Covernant on Political & Social Rights,Art.1).

What a shame that the un-elected commission does not trust the taxpaying voters who fund it.

  • The only criteria of a REAL PARLIAMENT that the EUs meets is that it has a buiding(s) to meet in.

A REAL PARLIAMENT is where the number of elected representatives is based on the voter size of the constituency. An MEP from tiny Malta has 6 times more representative clout than an MEP from big Germany.

A REAL PARLIAMENT is where parliamentarians from a country, nation or state meet. The EU is neither.

  • I'm a EUphile but so much of what comes out of the EU is sheer tedium

A much better vid is needed!

    zzzZZZZZZ.....

  • This makes me so sleepy

  • Beautiful!

  • Wearing makeup on TV a key issue on European elections? Jeez. These guys' communication strategy may need some rethinking :)

  • Please journalists and citizens from all over the Europe!

Don't let us alone with the Italian members of the european parliament! Do some research, make them tough questions!!! this is no joke!!

Sadly we have the highest level of political corruption in Europe. Go to them, discover their dirty secrets, help me not having them being elected if they are proven to be less than honest and incompetent!

    thanks!
