i wonder if the audio has something to do with the camera, distance, auditorium, or compression of the video... or if not, ya you're right they all tuned flat and purposely added in the crackling, i hear people do that a lot. Sometimes you don't want to be too good, cuz then you'd get a record deal.

It took them 1 min and 19 secs to bow, fidget, schooch and tune. That breaks any record I've ever seen. jk They played great though!!

Yes, the pitch is about a semi-tone flat of A=440. Could they be playing to the lower tuning of the 1840s (the Quintet was written in 1842)? It's more likely that the recording has somehow flattened the pitch. It's also a very crackly recording (though the balance is good). There are also intonation problems (occasionally serious), particularly with the 'cello and viola, though they seem to gain in confidence as they go on. Still, I did enjoy this. There is a good deal of life and commitment.
