I thought I'd have a go at unlimited LOD based terrain, some cloud generation (actually Mikes cloudgen) and a small flight sim + 2 AI bots chasing me.
Technique used is four L3DT terrain patches, two 15k poly's and two 1k polys, most of the time only 1k poly is shown.
I used about 400 imposters, but only 20-40 orso is shown at any given time.
The terrain is rendered based on distance and randomly rotated to give a non repeatative effect. The fog is set to match the skybox.

  • why is there meteors

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Awesome shadmar, it really shows what 3DRAD Can do, if you could share a tutorial on this Ultimate Terrain it would be nice :)

  • wow, this is awesome! The clouds are just OMG, so cool, looks better than in MS Flight sim games!

Can you make tutorial for making the terrain? I tried to make terrain for my racing game, but it has no collision detection, my rigid bodies just fall through the terrain. I generated .ply and .pol files, but it doesn't work.

Anyway what is the song called?

  • Wow shadmar9(would use real name if i knew it)You are soon to be a pioneer with 3d rad.Im loving the clouds. That is so amazing. They look so real it hurts lol.
