@AyrtonSennaFan97 Thats true of course but no-one (except you) ever said anything about out-laps -- the guy who made the original comment was merely pointing out the amazing conditions o driving an F1 car here back then.

@BiggerThinking1 They would never go through the tunnel on their out lap at 170mph, it would completely destroy their tyres which only last for one lap.

@ssssroryssss This was a warm up lap - if the camera had been used when it should have been - ie the next lap when he went for one of his legendary banzai pole laps - u'd have seen a mind-blowing spectacle. This is an epic waste of an opportunity - FAIL camera director!

@AyrtonSennaFan97 Actually he is right - they do go through there at 150mph - in fact even faster - about 170mph by the end of it - and it was very dark in those days - many older drivers have mentioned it.

@ivakpavlov Come on man, get real. This is his out lap, he is heating up the tyres which is why you can still see the stickers on them so there is no way that he is driving through the tunnel at 150mph, this would destroy the tyres which only lasted a maximum of 1 lap at full speed. And do you really think the FIA would let drivers race through a tunnel without seeing anything at 150mph? The cameras back then were very bad and set for daytime light settings, which is why you cant see anything.
