This is our Symphonic 1 band performing 'Latin Folk Song Trilogy' by William Himes for UIL.
The first movement is El Tortillero, aka The Tortilla Vendor.
The second movement is Lament-Huainito, which is an Argentine folk song.
The third movement is Riqui Ran. I have a mini solo in this from about 7:51 to 8:00. ;]
i have to play this in band for my concert tonight !

It was good altogether, but bassoons, watch your tuning in the 2nd mvt. I played this in symphonic band and my band director would stop rehearsal if we bassoon players didn't play in tune.

Indeed the trumpets are quite loud at the solo part, but still, the song is cool. I seriously got ones across the board with this one. I'm a tuba player, so you can count on it.

Yes there is a bassoon solo right after the tuba solo.

I played this in symphonic band and got ones all across the board. That year we got ones all across at every contest(and this was in the 8th grade too). That's saying something.
