An interview with Rabbi Isaac Jeret, spiritual leader of Congregation Ner Tamid of South Bay (www.nertamid.com), conducted by Art Levine, moderator of Straight Talk TV (www.straighttalktv.com). In this interview, conducted as Israel's 59th anniversary of its indepenence was celebrated, Rabbi Jeret reflects upon Israel's importance as the lone Democracy in the Middle East, its partnership and friendship both in spirit and in cause with The United States of America, and the shared existential threat posed by radical Islam to Jews, Christians, and western-civilization on the whole. In the course of this interview he considers the larger significance of the Muslim majority's abuse of the Christian minority in Bethlehem, a circumstance that Rabbi Jeret visited first-hand during a recent trip to Bethlehem when he preached a message of hope and solidarity to the city's Christian communities and learned first-hand from parishoners of their plight under the rule of a Muslim majority.
