  • is that the makora in the background?

  • yes I have the new 1 with te Blue Titanium hardware for sale Gunbroker auction 117734800

  • Nice. But unfortunately, you have the one made in China with the black plastic firing button. The "authentic" Lightning is made in Taiwan and comes with a aluminum firing button and has really good lock up with almost no bladeplay.

I love your Microtech, though :D

  • The firing button is made of Aluminum on this 1 If you notice on the top left side of the button the paint is chipped and it shows the metal If this button was made of plastic there wouldn't be any color change there as the plastic would be solid black

  • Unfortunately, where I live, all the knife sellers I've been to only carry the Chinese Lightning, which is a shame, because I really like that model, since it's pretty much everything I could ever ask for in an OTF.

  • I also have the Taiwanese model bought it at assistedknives for $34.99 had it now for 6 months fantastic knife no issues super deal! I rate 5/5

  • the taiwanese has a heavier aluminum handle and less to no blade play. as the chinese model has a plastic handle lower grade components and horrible blade play.

  • @eliormelech supposedly the chinese models have a black firing button and a plastic casing. i believe, i could be wrong

  • if you just tighten the blade it wouldn't be lose right?

  • how much was it because a taiwanese one is about 50 bucks the chinese one is about 20 bucks thats one way to idetify it

  • $40

  • How much did you pay?

  • i have the same knife but i cant figure out if it is chinese ore authentic taiwanese the slide button is black but defintely made out of aluminum and painted(i took it apart and the bottom of the buttonis shiny silver)
